Car will not crank, help needed

Hey guys,

I need some help, last night I was cleaning up the wiring to my KP deluxe mirror tilt module because I didnt like they way I arranged it the first time around and the car shut off?

Now when I put the key in the ignition I get the beeping but when I turn it all the way it does not start. It does not even click. Its dead.

So, I checked the fuses in the driver kick panel and tested them with a voltmeter and they are all good.

Next, I opened up the hood and tested both fuse boxes on top and behind the battery and those are good too. I don't know what to do? The fuses seem to all check out OK with my voltmeter, I also visually inspected them.

Then I tested the battery at Pepboys and it checked it fine. I can also turn the lights on to my car (another indication the battery is fine).

I am thinking it may be a big relay? Or maybe another fuse I havent looked at? Please point me in the right direction. I doubt its the alternator or starter. I think its going to be a relay or fuse. Thanks.

Okay, I think I found the blown fuse afterall . I overlooked it without using a flashlight. Its the pink fuse near the top of the battery. Here is a pic.

Can I just resolder the connection or is this asking for trouble? I am asking because all the dealership part stores are closed and I want to drive my car.

The blown fuse is called FL40A IGN SW (ignition switch)

That's seriously asking for trouble.

Get a proper one or risk a fire or a part much more expensive to replace than a fuse.

Thanks Wrathernaut,

I figured I had to replace it, no point in soldering it because then the fuse wont blow out in the event of a short. I will replace it.

However, I still soldered it and the car is working, so at least I know this was the problem. I am not going to drive it until I get the part tomorrow, thanks again.
