Aftermarket Satellite Radio

Hey guys, I have never posted on this forum yet, although I've been all over the performance sections. I have an 03 sedan that I added Sirius radio to. The current config is setup with sound coming from an FM modulator. The sound sucks. Has anyone found a better way to do this, maybe soldering jumpers to the audio circuit inside the bose system. I'm almost thinking of going back to the cassette adapter and trying to hide the wire. Anything you guys could recommend would be appreciated.

Re: Aftermarket Satellite Radio

The obvious answer is to buy the OEM Sirius tuner module! Yeah, it's a little more expensive, but it takes care of the audio quality issues, and fully integrates with the head unit and steering wheel controls.

The next best answer is to go with the various line-in adapters that people have posted on here. Search for "PAC".

Your cassette adapter will probably sound OK, but it's a clumsy kludge. How ridiculous to have a 30k car and wires running over the dash?!

I think the 03 sedan doesn't have a SAT buton and thus doesn't work with the PAC aux adapter nor the Infiniti SAT tuner module.

I have, however, read that someone successfully used the Soundgate ALNS1 Nissan to Alpine CD changer adapter as an aux input adapter for their 03 sedan. You hit the CD button to toggle between the internal CD changer and the second CD changer.

That's what I'm talking about...I'll check that product out!

I do not have SAT button.

So what was the result? What did you get to work?

I have the same issue. I have got to lose this cassette adapter and FM Modulation stinks. Even the in-line version.

I haven't explored any more options. I've parked the car for the winter. Anyone else have new info?
