Aren't XM and Sirius the same company?

Just after I bought my used 08 I got a complimentary three month subscription after calling XM. Yesterday I got an offer from Sirius for five months of service for only 20 bucks. I thought XM and Sirius had merged, so couldn't I call Sirius, pay the $20.00 and get five months of service?

They just merged.

But if you need a XM radio activated, you have to call XM. Same with paying your bill.

they are the same company but its kinda awkward

with XM you can buy "the best of sirus" for another $5 or so a month

same with Sirus, you can but the bext of XM for $5 more.

When I had satilitle radio a few years ago, the tuners were seperate, but like i said, you can do the majority of XM/Sirus channels on either tuner set up

So this offer, since it's through Sirius, is basically worthless.

Xm and Sirius both have the 5 months for $20 and a waiving of the activation fee.

They also offer $77 for a year sometimes if you ask about it.

And last time I called I got like 6 months for $30 or $36.

They are desperate for business and will offer everything they can to prevent you from canceling or to convince you to sign up.
