Output Necessary for Factory Bose Amp

I am about ready to install the X920BT on my 2005 G35x, but I recently heard that you need at least 4v output in order to use the Bose amp (X920BT has 2.2, Z110BT has 4) . What are your thoughts on this? Would the PAC ROEM-NIS2 solve this problem as well?

Yes it is supposed to work fine with the oem amp as long as you have the pac unit. I bought it for my install as well and am just waiting for it to arrive.

Some (most?) have installed various 4v and 2v headunits with the 70-7551 and had very quiet audio in 03-04s, and some have had the same experience with 05+s.

I have installed a 2v headunit (U310BT) with the 70-7551 in an 05 Bose Coupe and it worked fine.

I have installed a 4v headunit (Z110BT) with the 70-7551 in an 05 Bose Sedan and it worked fine (with video proof).

To my knowledge, nobody has had problems with any year with the PAC ROEM in any year Bose G35.

The service manuals show no difference between the signals from the headunits to the Bose amps in the 03-04s and 05+'s, so why there's a apparent disparity between them is a mystery to me.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone especially Wrathernaut for the detailed information on how to install everything. I used the jdm kit, Pac-Nis2, and Pac-SWI to do the install. I was able to get the navi bypass done and program the PAC-SWI. I got too lazy to add the dual climate button. Plus I rarely use it anyways. Everything in Wrathernaut's instructions are accurate. I'll post some pics later. Thanks again.
l also installed the Pioneer AVIC X-920BT in my 2004 G35 sedan. Read this forum for inspiration and knowledge to go ahead and do the install. Thanks to all that have posted information here. Every thing went well except for the wire that needs to be connected to the parking brake switch. Talked with Pioneer support, was told that wire need to connected to finish programming the nav unit & bluetooth.
I need help on this, I've looked under the dash in and around the parking brake pedal, is it the single purple/blue wire that is attached to the switch? Do I tap into it at the switch?

Attatch the parking brake wire to a ground connection and it will work fine. Also this way the unit is now bypassed and you can use the nav while driving.

Did you run it through the factory Bose amp and speakers (assuming you had the bose)? If so, how does it sound now?

Piaoneer x920bt

Made connection to Bose with the Nissan/Infiniti harness from Crutchfield, the sound is great, delivers full volume. Also used PAC PSv1 for SW connection. Thanks to Co Pilot, following his instructions, programming the SWI was fairly straight forward.

PAC ROEM for 2005-2006?

But on your shopping list (which we all can't thank you enough for), you did not list the PAC ROEM as an option for the 2005-2006 Bose systems (and my car is an '05). So it's not compatible with my '05, correct?

It is compatible, but nobody who's wired the 70-7551 the way I've instructed has told me it failed to perform as advertised.

Before I threw the video together of how it should be wired and the results, some people had failed to connect the amp ground properly and had poor results.

I am connecting the radio harness to the pac-oem. Do I use the pac low or high level wires?

High level is what I've seen everyone else use.

Alright. Well the high level is for radios higher then 25 wattsx4, so I am guessing our radio is higher then 25w correct?

Not sure if they're asking peak or RMS watts, but the X920BT runs about as high as stock radios go, so I'd start with high level, if that's too quiet, use the low.
