Question Enclosures

Im wondering about the different types of sub enclosures and what is considered to give each their advantages....Im looking to either get two 10W6v2 or possibly one 10w7?? not sure but wondering what enclosures i should be looking for? vented? sealed? bandpass? thanks for the help

Post again when you want to share what kind of music you listen to, how much trunk space you're willing to give up and probably your budget.

I was just wondering the differences in the types of enclosures??? ill figure out the subs part but just wondering what enclosure i should look for....listen to 60% hip hop/rap and 40 alternatice/rock/some metal

Yeah, ported unless you want to keep as much trunk space as possible.

just remember ported enclosures are usually bigger than sealed. So you will lose more trunk space.

Doesnt the sealed make a cleaner sound? not bvvvp and just was at an audio shop and figured a decent setup would be 10w6v2/XD600.1/ and Jbl component up front???

No..a properly designed and built ported box will have the same sound quality as a sealed one

pretty typical of a shop to recommend a 300 dollar jl amp when you get the same power from an mb quart for 100.

w6 are sq subs...delete those from your mind.

There's nothing "wrong" with a sealed one, it's different. If you read the descriptions in the first link you'd have a starting point for comparison.

If you want rap then ported (or even free-air) is the way to go.

you need to know what sub you are buying before you can say sealed, ported,band pass, or baffle.

for rap and rock usually people like ported boxes no matter what sub it is

i like the sq sub though? haha sounds so clean but im jw if it will still be enough
and ok ill look at some ported....any good sites cuz zenclosures has the shape i want but i dont think their ported
