Any interest in this box?
i've never looked into the shipping costs of it...i should probably look into that before i come up with a price...if it's going to cost me $100 to ship it because of the odd shape it wouldn't be worth it to me....sounds like thats my next step is figuring out the shipping costs....

Well i'm going to get working on it this weekend. I'm thinking pure fiberglass minus the top for this thing to add a little (not much i know) airspace, hopefully i'll be able to squeeze out another 1/4 cubic foot, but we'll see
There's plenty of air gaps between your back seats and the rear seat wall. You'd only have issues in something like a del sol where the trunk is completely seperated from the cab of the car. Believe me, i've done a 1500 watt RMS ported system in a del sol trunk...you couldn't even hear it inside the cab unless you had the windows up and the targa top on. And even then, you could only hear it under 30mph.

But if the rear speakers are still in place, the majority of the bass stays trapped there. Could work out a lot more efficient if it were vented into the rear deck somehow.

The problem with building a ported box such as what you're talking about is that every woofer will react differently to a ported enclosure. Some woofers can go down to 20 htz where as others cannot go down below 40htz, there's not really a way to make a "universal" ported box that would pass the requirements that I would set for it. Not to mention the extra space required in order to get enough airspace to suit any woofer. Realisticly, unless it requires minimal space, to build a "universal" (for woofers) ported box it would require loosing half the trunk.

The only other way i forsee something like that working is if you take away the spare tire and build part of the box inside the spare tire wheel well....that way you could keep at least some of your trunk space..
I'm gonna have my box guy mock 1 up. With an external areo port, box size can be smaller compared to slot ports
