Placement of GPS receiver?

Hi,

I need help with placing GPS receiver-that square puck. I believe it must have view of the sky, but I am at total loss on where to put it. It seems to have magnetic base, but I will NOT put it outside of cabin.

Please help!

Thanks, I'd never think of that...so it does not need clear view of the sky?

It only requires that it be directly on top of metal with no metal above it.
