aftermarket deck with factory nav?

Hey everyone,

My question is simple i hope. I have 2003 G35 coupe with the factory nav. I want to swap out the factory deck with a double din non-nav deck. Just so its alot less trouble to have bluetooth handsfree, which is all most a must in a manual, and to hook my ipod up to it. however everyone has told me that if I swap out my factory deck i will lose the factory nav. So my question is, is this true or is there a work around to have an aftermarket deck and keep the factory nav? Thanks

You should read this sticky; you will learn a lot. It will also answer a lot of your questions.

And yes you can buy the JDM dash kit so you can keep the factory nav.
The Metra dash kit will not work if you want to keep the factory nav.

If you need any help beyond that list of parts and resource, post up again. There's plenty of people here who have done it before.

Good luck with it.

Thanks guys. I didnt even see that sticky, but one more question. its seems from Wrathernauts guide there are two JDM dash kits, one for nav and one for non-nav. When i find these dash kits online how do i know which one they are?

for example this dash kit from riverside on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-I...#ht_1505wt_941

thanks again

You didn't read the sticky very well.

For the 03's there's only one JDM trim.

PM Timm@Grubbs or World Famous Z for a better price than that.

05+'s there's two, but you can't get the nav jdm trim anymore anyway.
