it maybe the correct size as far as air space but what is the port tuned to?

some are as high as 50hz

typically you want somewhere in the 30hz range.

 

35hz which is right about what re audio recommends. How much of a difference does it make if it's a custom box vs a pre fab? I don't see the difference my brother has 2 jl w1s in a pre fab ported box and my friend spent $250 on a custom box and I don't see what's so good about it. Like I said before, I just need some solid bass.

 

Custom as in generic shape but with the ports made to match the sub, or custom as in custom shape and ports made to match the sub?

 

The shape isn't all crazy custom or anything, he just chose the specific height.

Ok i got a sealed box, I just ordered two id10 woofers, I also got a Hifonics 750rms @2 ohms to power it. I just realized that i might be overpowering the subs? there image dynamics id10 dual 2 ohm.

 

Nah, two ID10s can take easily share 750 in sealed boxes.

 

better to over power than under power you can always adjust the gain of your amp. distortion can destroy speakers when people try to play them beyond the limits of their amps. seen it happen all the time.

 

Would w3s be a better choice? They canceled my order so I have time to pick something else. I have a hifonics 750rms @2 amp. The enclousure I have is pretty small. So I need some 2 10s that work in a small space

 

w3s aren't near the same class as the IDQs for sound quality.

Where did you order from?

woofersetc.com has the Sundown SA-10s which are as good as the IDQs.

 

sa would be better for spl in your case.

 

I ordered from woofersetc.com so should I get two sa-10 and power it from my hifonics 750wt amp?
Would that be enough power? Cause each sa-10 take 600rms.

 

Should i get two Rockford Fosgate Punch P3D210? They're 400rms each I can get them for a nice price too.
