installing remote starter w/o losing a key

I'm poking around looking at remote starters and obviously on a G35 we have immbolizers. In most cases to install a remote starter we would need to lose a key. The key would sit in a bypass module somewhere in the car so it can start the car.


I've heard of people not needing to lose their key. Been looking around and found the modules needed for this but they both need keys.

DEI 556UW and a DesignTech 20402 are commonly used. I really dont like the idea of having a key on a car to begin with. even if i take apart the key and only leave the chip there, it just makes it one step easier to steal since now they just need to hotwire the car since the chip already bypassed.

I have a 05 I key system and plan on getting a Viper 5701 installed just doing my homework for the modules

I just had a viper 5902 installed and my installer used the expresskit bypass module. I didn't have to lose a key , but note that the Xk09 does not control the door locks.
I called viper and they said that the installer would have to wire the doors directly without using a module. The viper tech support said that we could use the xk02 for doors along with the xk09 but it might cause problems.
I have an 03 coupe.

Sorry I meant that you could use the xk09 to bypass but it will not control the doors..

I have the Viper 5901. Installer warned me that I would lose 1 key due to the module. My car stays in my garage, so not worried about it too much.

Yeah.. I think It depends on the module..
