Door Speakers Question

I was just curious, my passenger side door speaker blew, and Im not really sure how. Anyways, I have the standard sound system not bose and I am just putting some basic door speakers back in, will I have to use some sort of spacer? Is that only on certain brands or is that pretty much a given? I bought some sony xplod 6.5" and Im wandering if I will definitely need spacers or if its a case by case basis. Im not really sure how deep the factory ones are as these sony speakers dont look that deep. Just wanting some advice, thanks.

I do not know if there's room in the coupes for getting away withotu a speaker, but you can gut the old speakers and use their housing as a spacer. It's not as stable or solid as a good MDF spacer, but it's free.

Otherwise, you can make your own, or buy them pre-cut and with all the hardware required from zenclosures.com.

Not really, it's just wires. A harness adapter makes it so you don't have to solder or spice, but not necessary by any means.

I traced the factory speaker "bracket" and just used a jigsaw to trim it out

they dont have to look as nice as the ones for sale in various places, just make sure the wood seals up the hole pretty good
