Help! Nav errors

I have wanted to do the typing while driving mod for a while but have been scared too because during the summer the nav would lock up. It would say disk error and DVD version not correct. I live in Indiana and it wasnt the hottest summer on record. I took it into the dealership and they just said it was because of the heat and that they all do that. I want to do a Xbox mod, but just yesterday after driving 60+ miles at 67 degrees the nav locked up after trying to go back to the map after looking at the MPG. I have to eject the disk and reload it to work again.

Has this happened to anyone else (even from Arizona or Florida), or is Infiniti giving me the runaround because they dont want to replace the system? They wouldnt even give me a replacement disk.

Thanks
Eric

Re: Help! Nav errors

It's not normal, and they don't all do it. It's an error with the nav unit. Take it to the dealership and tell them it's becoming habitual, and has nothing to do with heat. Tell them it locks up even when your car has been in the garage all day-- makes no sense.

Same thing happened to me, and they replaced it under warranty. Hasn't happened since.
