Problem with stock headunit

I have an 03 coupe navi. My stock Bose head unit stopped working tonight Kind of. The radio still works but only responds to the steering wheel controls. No buttons on the center console work, not even power off/on. There is also no display. I feel like I may have hit a button combo that locks user out (hopefully) but fear the stereo just decided to die. Can anyone shed light on this situation for me?

Haha. What... That's terrible news to hear. I just bought the car 2 weeks ago.

Was yours under warranty when they replaced it or did the do it under good grace?

Lol private party so No warranty. Dang so the stereo goes out that often? Do you know what the cause is? Hoping there's a simple fix, if not... I'm going to leave this thread open on my comp in hopes the gf sees it and gets me a double din for Christmas lol.

Yep, very common to go out that often. Search would have told you that.

Taking it apart and re-seating the ribbon cable may help. Punching the side may help, but if it's not this, it's one of several other common problems that make it not worth putting any money into maintaining a factory headunit.

I do, however, highly encourage anyone still under warranty to get it replaced as often as possible to make Infiniti pay for their poor choice here.

It's definitely made me decide against using or recommending Clarion (manufacturer of the factory headunit) units in the future.

Appreciate the reply. I did do a search but I'm on the mobile version of the site so i didn't find what I needed help with. I'll definitely look up how to do the things you mentioned once I get to a comp
