Is this actually better than the 3200 or the 4200 other than the fact that it has navigation?

Same old issue with this one - USB in the front

I think the 4200 is starting to make more sense just because I could actually make a cradle for the Ipod in the cubby behind (I dont have navigation in my car). Have you heard anything negative about the 4200?

Nope, a lot of people here have done the 4200 and 3200, they're great, everybody's loved them as far as I've seen.

I have the 4200dvd, just got it put in 2 days ago... Love it so far, bought it because of the cleaner look of the 7" screen. iPod interface is WAY better than that of my old kenwood or pioneer D3 headunits.

No need for Navi here and I picked it up off amazon for $300 or so... Cheaper than my JDM kit. Haha

@Ranndy - Did you get the bluetooth add on? WHat JDM kit did you get and how much did that cost?

@jdub850 - Does the 6800 have the usb ports behind or in front?

There's only one JDM kit, runs about $300 from a few sources, you can check my shopping list - https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...urce-list.html - for the sources.

I had the DEH-P6800MP in my old Prelude (predecessor to my wife's G35). Decent single-din headunit overall, but very outdated and it was discontinued long ago, it has no USB ports. It has a front AUX, and you can get an iPod adapter for it though.

I don't own a G35 but a 350z, I just had the AVH-P3200DVD installed yesterday and I have to say it's a great unit but I'm really at a loss with what to do with the cables coming out the front for the ipod. I didn't think it would bother me so much but I drive a standard and the cable itself is not very long, so it does sometimes interfere with my driving and I'm not big on having a cable droop from the front of it.

The other problem I have with it are the images it provides for the artist from the ipod look like very poor resolution and blurry, like something you'd see on an old apple computer rather than a unit capable of displaying dvd quality images. It's possible the guy didn't install everything properly but I've tried tweaking or finding a way to tweak the resolution to fine tune the image without success. It's not a deal breaker, but just another small annoyance.

Functionality is great beyond those hiccups, especially for the price.

I just ordered the 4300 from crutchfield. I went the Metra route, so I got the Metra adapter for $90 + wire harness and ant adapter. Spent $490. Waiting for the rest of my system to come in to install it, but it looks really nice. Basically the same hu as the 4200 with added Pandora support. After recieving the Metra kit in the mail...I wish I would've went the JDM route. The trim matches real nice, but those damn grey buttons, ugh, ugly. Maybe it will look better once it's all installed, but probably not...
