I've never done something like that before... I know how to install stereos and speakers, .. . I've just never done a dash conversion before or taken apart the G's interior.

Re: How difficult is the Double Din install?

just cause you know how to install stereos doesn't make working on a different car easy.. it's just looking at FAQ/DIY and following them that makes the job easy.. the only difficult thing that most people complain about the install is taking apart the whole dash.. if you're doing it for the first time, i can be a pain, BUT if you know someone who's done it before, they can make it that much faster for you.. i helped a fellow g35driver and it saved him a lot of guessing time during his install..

long story short, just follow the instructions =P

Re: How difficult is the Double Din install?

I agree with liu, if u can get in contact with someone who's already done it before, it will save u lots of grief and frustration.

I just put mine in. It was all pretty straightforward. The hardest part for me was unplugging those damn wiring harnessess behind the hvac. Just be careful when you're digging with ur screwdriver and pulling. I got so frustrated and pissed that I unknowingly pulled all the wires out of the harness. Luckily I was able to stick them back in. But god damn.....

And when ur taking out the clock trim, i would suggest pushing up from underneath the top portion with ur thumb to create enough clearance in the back so you can stick ur other fingers in there for leverage. I hope that makes sense.

Re: How difficult is the Double Din install?

thanks for the advice, but there's no one in my area. my bose system doesnt really work anymore and i dont think its worth it to fix it under warranty, so i almost dont have a choice about replacing it... so im tryin to estimate how much trouble im gonna run into with it

Re: How difficult is the Double Din install?

One more advice from me. Please please be patient. Don't rush yourself and just take time to remove all the screws and panel needed. And don't take shortcut!!!
