After seeing the nav system in the Acura TL, I've got the itch to put an aftermarket NAV in my G. After doing some research, it looks like the Kenwood Excelon or Eclipse AVN are two nice double-din touchscreen systems. I don't want to install one of the single-din units with a flip-up screen since those look like a flinsy hack.

Are there any other systems that I should investigate?

It's not double DIN, but you can put a complete screen in for the same price a double DIN conversion kit would cost you, see below:<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small"><EM>Edited by dyenboy on 11/01/04 05:05 PM.</EM></FONT></P>

 

I just went through the double DIN process myself and had an Eclipse AVN 2454 installed. You can see some pictures of the final product [plus some of comments about the AVN unit] in a thread started in the So. Cal. section under: Double Din install .

Ed, congrats! I didn't know that you got your DVD nav unit installed. What unit did you finally decide to go with?
