most aftermarket dvd players will read DVDs loaded with mp3s

just make a data dvd and you're good to go

I did this before I had an ipod connection

the unit has to be able to read dvds first, if its a CD player only will not be able to read DVDs

its like putting a blu ray in a DVD player

 

I burn MP3's from my iTunes. I use a CD-R, 700mg, can hold about 8 hrs of music and depending on the time of each song about 80>90. I get more control over what songs or genre I want to hear. You can make searchable files too if you a more flexable program like Nero.
This way I don't have to fumble around with my iPOD and crash my car while i'm looking down.
