Annoying piercing sound after JL 300/4 install!

I put my JL 300/4 to my stock bose components up front and 6.5's in the rear quarters. It sounds better than that crappy bose amp, and will have to due untill i can get some new speakers. My problem is, i get a loud high pitched piercing sound after it plays for about 10 minutes and wont go away untill the car is off for a few hours. I did not use an LOC, as JL claims u do not need one. I cut my rca's and connected those straight to the lines. I do not know what is causing this sound, but its unbearable, and makes me wish i never put the JL 300/4 in. Please help me out, techs. Thanx

yes you can use high input rca's but you have to change the settings on the amp correspondingly. (it needs to know if you are using high or low inputs).

I hope that you spliced into the head unit outputs before the Bose amp, not after.

yes i put the JL on high level input. As for Racerx's tip, i connected the output from the bose directly to the RCA's, so im not sure what you mean.

According to BOSE Tech support, the Bose amp has some kind of funky EQ scheme built in. So you should remove the Bose amp and connect the HU directly to the JL amp.

Otherwise the Bose amp is coloring the sound BEFORE it hits the JL.

As to the noise...I can't help you there. Recheck all wiring, especially the grounding.

Yeah ... you want to eliminate the Bose amp altogether. The output of the HU is a good source for a LOC or a high-level accepting amp all by itself Leaving the Bose in the mix can only add distortion and problems.
