Satellite Radio

Hello,
Just purchased a 2005 Coupe, with no satellite radio in the stock Bose system. But due to my having a long-running subscription from my previous vehicle I am looking to add Sirius. I've searched the forums but either this question has not been asked or I'm a poor searcher (more likely I know). Are the stock radios for this year satellite ready so that I just need to add a tuner/adapter/antenna or will I need to get one of the separate units (ie Sportster 5) to run through the antenna with a FM modulator? Thank you.

Satellite ready just means the head unit will accept a sat aux in if you buy/have the module. The way you can tell if its installed is to look for the antenna just above your rear window / roofline outside your car (Looks like a mini shark fin). If you have it then call to activate. If not, you have to buy the module and connect it to the sat aux in the HU

To Modulate or Not to Modulate

Thanks for the response. No antenna, no satellite radio factory installed in the vehicle. So is the factory headunit satellite ready? If so then I can buy this plus an adapter and control the satellite through stereo itself:
Amazon Amazon

If the factory radio is not satellite ready, then I will have to purchase something like this plus an FM modulator where the radio will sit on a predesignated station but the satellite radio will be tuned outside the headunit:
Amazon Amazon

This is what I'm trying to find out, if option 1 will work or do I have to go with option 2. Thank you.

You might want to look through the audio/video section. I don't remember how this works for the 05 model.

If you want to be able to control is using the stock head unit, you would need to get the Nissan/Infiniti satellite receiver.

You can get one of those at Infiniti Parts USA.

You might be able to get a better deal from one of our sponsors.

Moved to the AV sec. Might find someone who has a solid answer here.

I do know that if you have the premium pkg (Bose), it's prewired (05+)
