Radio works but display is blank

I can control the radio via the steering wheel(power, channels, cd etc..) but the display went blank. Anyone else experience this? And what is the solution?

Not a joke. But it seems to be working again today. Probably had to turn off the car. Odd

I would suspect that you're experiencing the dreaded 03-04 circuit board failure. It's been discussed so many times I just figured you'd make the connection. Glad it started working again.

Actually I've had that problem when I got the car. Fortunately I got it replaced under warranty.

Fan speed for the ac went to full blast. haha. (among other things)

Maybe RDS just wasn't working or accidentally switched off?

Ok, joking aside (briefly) Jeff, mine has been getting dimmer and dimmer. So IDK.
The circuits on that board are obviously crap.
I checked my cars service record, and it had already been replaced once, and my CD changer failed when I first got the car.
Gutted that part out, and it works fine most of the time.
Occasionally though, it locks up and requires a "heavy hand" to go "up side the head"
Between all the different ways it's failed (as have others) it's clear to me they're just a crappy head unit.
