Looking for input on a Good DD head unit.

I am in the market for a Double Din touch screen head unit for my Mustang. I am not worried at all about having Navi in it. I just want something of Good Quality, Ipod capabilities, DVD function that can be over ridden.

What are some things to look for? What are some good options? I am looking for something in the $500-600 price range.

Any Input or advise on what to look for and what to stay away from.

Thanks in advance.

I would stick to Pioneer or Kenwood. Is bluetooth important?

Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD:
Amazon Amazon

Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD (this year's version of the 4200, only real difference is added iPhone/Pandora support, so good if you have an iPhone): http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130AVHP....html?tp=20217

Kenwood DDX-516:
Amazon Amazon

Kenwood DDX-714 (built in blue tooth):
Amazon Amazon

If you get one with touch screen go for the extended warranty if its offered. The sensors tend to go even with the name brand units.

With a budget like that, get a good single din.

Right now a lot of the retailers have the Pioneers on sale, great time to buy. I just picked up a Pioneer AVH-3200DVD for $280.

Really??? That seems kinda dumb. A budget of $500-600 will be fine for a DD touch screen DVD. Like i said in the beginning, I am not after something elaborate and I don't need navi.

Here is a prime example... Refurbished... I don't have the have the latest, greatest and most advanced radio to be happy.

Thanks for the ideas.... I appreciate that..

I just want something better than my 6-7 year old Kenwood Single din.

Bluetooth would be a waste for me. I don't think it would even be usable over the drone of dumps with no tail pipes, or the whine of the Procharger.

Any thoughts or input on SONY???? I have never owned a Sony headunit, but BestBuy has them, and at a GOOD price.

My thoughts are leaning towards buying from BestBuy Mainly due to the extended warranty they offer. It has been worth its weight in Gold several times for me.

They have this one and also the model below it with NO navi but the same style/look as this one.... With a 4 year warranty for $60.... its looking like a good option...

Any thoughts on Sony??? What does it take to override the DVD playing capabilities in a Sony????

sony has always been a good brand, some people say they trailed off.

I have always liked them as a good entry to mid level brand.

Do they have it in store? Or maybe find another store that has one in stock and mess with it for a few min

Looking at videos of the interface, it looks slow and very ugly. I couldn't live with it.

It looks like there's a 2-second lag just to change the radio station, let alone the more complicated functions.

I ended up picking up a Sony XAV60 last night at Best Buy. I got it for $409 and another $55 for the 4 year warranty. Its a Non-Navi unit, which is what I was after. I am getting anxious to put it in...

Any advise on a direction to take for a back up camera????
