Hello guys I recently purchased my 07 coupe and since then I realized the Steering Volume controls did not work. I have been doing some troubleshooting little by little. Everything pointed at the Telephone control unit and when I went to check it i realized there was a whole drilled right thru it! the hole actually hit the corner of the Main Conector and messed up a couple of pins on the the wiring side and inside the actual Control Unit I went ahead and unplugged it to try and figure out the problem and blew a couple of fuses in the process ( The radio and another one. I have since then replaced and checked all fuses but my head unit does not want to work. My question would be since I disconnected the main harness from the telephone unit could this be the cause for the Radio to not want to turn on?? i can't plug it back up as both sides of the connectors are bad and will very likely cause another short. Also is there a way to bypass the Phone Head Unit?

All suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Did you check both the front and back fuse boxes in the battery compartment as well as the driver's side kick panel?

 

After getting back to it with a cold head I found a bent leg on the radio fuse so now my radio is back (THANK GOD) now I need to by pass the phone unit somehow so that I can get my controls back.....

 

Well, the bluetooth unit takes gets control of the signals so if the unit is removed, the controls won't make it to anything.

 

according to the wiring schematics the steering wheel controls go straight from the steering wheel into the bluetooth unit and the it goes out to the Head Unit

 

I think you're right.

I checked again, zoomed out, so I could see the whole page. I was looking at the top 2/3rds of page AV99, assuming the bottom 1/3rd was the steering wheel controls. It is not.

Okay, so to bypass the bluetooth unit's steering wheel controls, splice the following wires together at the bluetooth unit:

Remote Control Earth - 14 (Yellow) to 19 (Yellow)
Remote Control A - 12 (Red) to 17 (Red)
Remote Control B - 13 (Green) to 18 (Green)

 

Ok got the volume and the Seek buttons working today how ever the Mode button seems to turn off the radio when I hit it instead of changing the modes on the radio... Any ideas on this?

Yeah, the non-bluetooth function for that button is PWR, not mode. The answer call or whatever should now your mode button.
