AUX in advice

I drive a 2005 G35 coupe, and am looking for a way to plug my HTC Mytouch 4G phone in using a 3.5mm plug. I was wondering if anyone knows of an aux in kit that is made pretty compatible for my specific year and model. I have the Bose factory stereo and am pretty sure I have the SAT button which I heard is necessary for certain kits. Thank you for any advice.

PAC AAI-NIS2 is one option:

I recommend holding out for a new stereo though, since your factory headunit is due to die anytime now, which will make the aux input adapter useless, except as something to sell.

Is the 'non premium' stereo as prone to failure?

^^^ Warathernaut is right on this one. If you're not able to get a kit that lets you use steering wheel controls or something, just forget it and save the $ for a new stereo setup. Use an FM adaptor until you have the bucks.

Many HU are reused between vehicles, so I'm wondering if anybody has any pictures of the connectors on the back of the HU. Is there any unused connectors back there? There is a hack on the FX HU that uses the connector for the factory dvd entertainment system to rig up a 3.5mm (or RCA) input, just curious if that connection is also on the G HU, just not used.

the only hack is to tap the audio signal from the satellite adapter, but it requires that you have the satellite radio adapter installed in the first place.

Dang, I was hoping there might be a random 8-pin connector on the back of the head unit that didn't seem to have a purpose.
