OEM Alarm System isn't working at full potential

I'm not sure if my thread is in the right place or not, I figured the alarm system would be an electronic. If I'm in the wrong place I'm sorry and I'll be glad to delete if possible.

Hey everyone, I have a 2004 G35 Coupe 6MT Premium, I'm not sure if the car comes with a smart key or something, but I've just realized that when I use my alarm system's controller to lock the doors.. it doesn't.

What happens after I hit the button is a single horn goes off, hazards flash 2x, only the passenger door locks, and security light goes on. The driver's door remains unlocked, so when I open the driver's door the security light turns off and lets me in the car like nothing.. no alarm goes off or anything. The only way I'm able to lock the driver's door is by key, but when I do so, I am not able to unlock the driver's door via the controller's unlock button, and I have to use the key again to unlock.

Does anyone know a fix or cause for this? I'm thinking about taking it to Infiniti but I'm afraid of what they'll charge considering most dealerships overcharge on everything. Thanks in advance!

it is because your door lock actuator on your driver side went bad, get it replaced and you should be good.

That's the problem. It's extremely common.
