SOmeone please help me with a setup
alpine makes a new ten that would clear the seven inch depth of the zen. the new alpine is almost two inches less deep i think. is that what you meant by subwoofer displacement?
Yeah
Motor is still big, though. You can put it in that box if you want to, but it will fall flat on it's face around 40hz. You'll probably be down 20db in output around 30hz in a box that small.
You can have a small box, efficiency, or low end.
Pick 2.

Driver displacement is .08 cu. ft. I personally would run a larger enclosure than what their manual lists as ideal, you will get better extension and most importantly with acoustic suspension designs: a lower system Qtc than .9 (it will sound better). .8 cu. ft. will do well.
.4 dd... no, it would take 3 12W7's to clear that figure Details, details...

I know db is a log scale so wouldnt 20db less be 1/2 as loud? Its been awhile since my last physics class lol. Eggyhustles, would the daytona sub you recommended work well in the zen. Sorry i want to get this right. Thanks for all the replies
10db is twice as loud to the human ear.
And no, the dayton was designed for small vented.
This would work well
