Installing Custom Navigation System

Hello,

I am interested in buying either a 2004 or 2005 G35 Coupe. However, I would rather had a custom Navigation System installed. I would probably get the 6.5 inch screen which slides out and up along with a separate DVD changer in the back. Has anyone done this? I have looked on Crutchfield and nobody has listed whether this is possible.

Yes, it is possible and people on this board have done it, just do a search and you'll find some. On the 6MT I think the screen will hit the shifter on its way out depending on which gear your in. Regardless of which model you get, you will need to first drop $400+ on the double DIN conversion kit on top of your head unit since the G35 AC controller is integrated with the stock radio, this is probably why its not listed on crutchfield.

If don't mind something that looks a little closer to the stock NAV, but can be connected to anything with a video output, I have manufactured a screen housing specifically for the G35 that will avoid the need for the double DIN converter, you can get more information about it here: http://www.digitalwheelz.com
