Power for new PS2

The new PS2 can take in 8.5V. I want to stay away from an inverter so would this work...

Or do I need exactly 8.5V? Thanks

According to the manual and on the back where the "laptop-like adapter" plugs in, it says 8.5V IN and drawing 5.3~5.65 Amps. I assume it takes DC since there's the laptop-like adapter that probably converts AC-DC.
