New G Owner Need Some Help Please
Dear Community,
I am a new G35 owner and would like to see if anyone can help me out with two issues that I am experiencing.
I just purchased a used G35 03 coupe. My radio does function as do my climate controls except I have no display on the radio. From my research it sounds like this is caused due to the faulty Control Board/Radio Finisher (btw my cd player and tape deck also does not work). I did remove the stereo from the vehicle to see if the stereo was previously serviced in this case it seems like it was and broke again.
So I was able to put the stereo back in the car and when I drove it the following day I noticed that at random times I will hear a beep that lasts for 3-5 seconds long. This beep is random and occurs at random times.
After research I tried the following:
- Made sure trunk and hood lids were closed
- Made sure the tires had proper air (thought it might be a TPMS issue)
- Reset the computer by unplugging the negative for a few minutes
- Turned off the stereo (this did not help)
- The ribbon cable is properly connected because it does power on and I can listen to the radio but still no display (if it wasn't my stereo wouldn't work?)
I have absolutely no idea what the beeping may be coming from. Hope someone has some ideas?
My second issue is that since the radio display, cd player, and tape deck no longer works I found that it may be best to purchase an aftermarket stereo. My car has no nav so I am looking to purchase a DD with nav functions. How in the world do I know if my vehicle has the BOSE premium system? I mean my stereo tape deck says BOSE on it. Does that mean its the BOSE system?
Due to the comment on this forums I heard that crutchfield is a great place to purchase equipment. I was looking and found the dash kit but the website said that none of the steering wheel control adapters were compatible with my vehicle? Which I find quite odd.
Once again I am a new user and new owner of a G35 and the vehicle unfortunately did not come with an owners manual. I apologize if this has been posted multiple times on the forums but I could not find any fixes regarding my beeping issue and hope that someone has the time to help a newbie out.
