connecting amp to battery

how do you guys connect the amp to the stock battery positive terminal? the ring that was a part of the amp wiring kit i bought is too big and wont fit under the ring terminal. what i ended up doing was just not using a ring terminal and just using the bare wire. is this ok? pics would be appreciated! thanks

One time a friend of mine had the same problem. What he did was get a size of the battery terminal, go to an audio install store and match it with a good connector that would handle the RMS wattage. Put that end on and your on your way. As mentioned before I saw a friend do this and it worked just fine.

Bare wire smashed under the nut is never the best way. If the ring terminal is too big one easy way to fix that is to cut the end of the ring terminal and then squeeze the terminal together to make the hole smaller.

The best solution would be to find a terminal you can solder to the amp wire that fits right on to the post.

Also, don't forget that the amp wire fuse should be as close to the battery as you can get it!

jus buy the biggest gauge wire terminal (8 gauge i believe) u can buy from checkers or napas and jus trim as much off the thickness of ur power wire until it can fit into terminal and crimp it. thats it.
