Navi problems! Help!

ok.. so im sure this has come up on this forum alot. i literally just joined for this one question. my brother owns a 2005 g35 coupe 6 speed with the tuned suspension and 19inch wheels and blah blah. anyways.. his motorized navi has been acting like a DICK lately. he gets in the car. starts it up. it goes up, stays black for a second then goes back down. it will not turn on. ive read on google and crap of this happening alot but NOBODY ever has an answer for what it is. so if anybody has any idea please help. ha he wont do anything so i had to do this because i somehow care about his car more than he does. not true but it somehow doesnt bother him. but i want to know what is going on. so any help would be great. thanks guys.

^^ Not sure about the rest of the population, but I'm not usually trolling boards at 1am.

It may just need the rails to be cleaned and re-greased, but if my brother tore my dash apart to do something like that, I'd regrease their face, and by regrease, I mean punch.

There is a TSB out for this...TSB # ITB07-021. It refers to the replacement of the motor assembly, dispaly...part #28092-AC70A (beige) and 28092-AC70B (black).

I have the same issue with my nav and will be doing this myself as I am out warranty.

I have no idea if it works because this issue is all over the net with no mention of a real solution. For the "relatively" inexpensive cost of the part, and the fact that the issues outlined in the TSB are exactly those that I'm experiencing, I said WTH...give it a try. So, I am. Once I do, I'll post back.

Any news?

There was a time when my nav would only fail to stay up when the ambient temperature was above 85*, but now it simply never works. I'd like to know if the replacement was easy and if it solved the problem because I'm not ready to fork over labor to the dealer.
