Facotry Navi question

Hi, i have the audio circuit board issue with my stock radio, so i am looking to get aftermarket head unit install, but my car has the stock navi, has anybody has experience if the aftermarket head unit work with factory navi? or it just loses the voice function? how about steer wheel control for the audio do i need some type of adapter if i want to keep that function if so what kind of adapter do i need to get? Thanks.

Yes it does. Yes you lose voice unless you put together a small relay system. Yes, you do need an adpater - Metra Axxess ASWC.

Thanks for getting back with me quickly, are there any instructions on how this relay system can be done? Also i am buying metra kit i know there is ways to fit factory navi with this kit, do you know what needs to be done to fit it? anything that needs to be removed or cut out in order to fit them in? By the way i am using a single din radio as my head unit. Again thanks for the prompt reply.

Relay for voice wiring - the 3v LED can be a 3v bulb as well, but the LEDs last pretty much forever to get the voltage drop needed for the 6v relay (9v 3PDT relays are nearly impossible to get).



The metra kit really sucks with factory navigation, for the 03-04s, you'll have to file down corners of the kit:



and even then, it doesn't match the curves at all around the buttons:


I don't really have any help for using the metra kit for 05-07's other than you'll likely have to do the equivalent of what I do to JDM 05-07 trim kits for people:
