Question for Car Audio Experts
Question for Car Audio Experts:
Yesterday, while playing a CD, I heard a "sparkley pop" and then that acrid smelling electrical smoke came out of my OEM head unit's cassette hole...The music continued to play though, until I could power down the unit.
Now, the HU appears to power up, but there is no sound.
What are the possible causes of this?
Thanks!

Re: Question for Car Audio Experts
Maybe it's the same thing that's making my left speakers sound like poo? It's hard to tell without opening it up...and it shouldn't matter if you have anything aftermarket...well unless it was wired wrong. I'd see if you can get it replaced.
Re: Question for Car Audio Experts
Just an Update,
It seems that the CD Player works fine...just the radioo doesn't work (I haven't tried a cassette yet.) ...strange, but true.
I do have aftermarket amps/spkrs/sub/eq...I wonder if the Dealer will blame me! and not replace....looks like double din may be in my future, damn. I hate to lose those steering wheel controls!
