Installing Polk MM6501 and Polk MM651, do I need any spacers?
For my 2006 G Coupe,
I'm adding Polk MM6501 to my fronts
And Polk MM651 to the rears
Do I need any spacers or any extra parts? Or should it be a straight install?
I had the DB651 installed to my fronts and they fit fine without any spacers or modifications....
Thanks

When i was really big into audio and will get back into it soon. I would use MDF rings glued together and sanded down smooth to make spacer rings. Then use Damplifier pro and other sound insulation to seal off the door and make an enclosure. The spacer is necessary to clear the window but not sure in this case. I would recommend use some sort of spacer along with sound proofing insulation. I could install crappy pyle speakers and make sure the install was spot on with sound insulation and imaging that it would blow away a component setup just slapped together.

you need an adapter. You cant just mount a 6 1/2" in the door.
its just a thicker adapter than normal.
I made my own 3/4" out of wood.
My mids are 3" deep and with the 3/4" adapter I have just about 1/8 of an inch before it hits the window when its rolled down.
trace the factory speaker with the bracket to get a template.
