Metra Axxess ASWC problem and Rear view camera question
I was trying to install the ASWC tonight and could not get the auto detect to find my Pioneer AVH P2300. I followed the instructions to the best of my ability (First ever aftermarket radio install and no electronic/wiring background
)
Anyway, I connected the 12V to the same as the one in the wiring kit for the aftermarket radio. The 2 grounds (one for the metra and one for the factory harness) are both connected to the aftermarket stereo ground. I also connected the other wires to the 16 PIN by cutting off the wire in the back of the connector and connecting that to the metra axxess. If anyone can point out what I did wrong and how to fix it I would really appreciate the help.
I also got a rear view camera that looks like . I know the camera goes to the license plate, and the video goes to my double din/camera, but I was wondering how I would get the wires from the license plate frame into my trunk in order to attach these wires. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

figured out my reverse camera, works great!
I still need help on the metra. As for the ground, I'm put the ground wire in between metal bar and plastic part that holds the center console area. Is this a bad idea? I can't really find a better ground connection close by. I also redo the 12v into my cig lighter just to see if it'll work. Double checked all wires and I still have the same issues. Can't think of anything I'm doing wrong other than I have a bad ground area or that I have a defective unit.
On a side note, this is rather gratifying. It was quite an adventure being my first install, and now that 90% of everything is working, and a total of 12 hours (yeah I know, wtf... but I went from knowing nothing to learning the basics and an install during that time as well) spent on this project, I'm eager to see it finished.
I don't want to give up on the metra just yet, but I wan't to be able to drive my car by tonight. I hope someone is willing to help me out! PLEASE and THANK YOU.

I AM AN IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!
Step
3) Push and hold the Volume Up button.
The whole time I was pressing volume up on the DD... IT'S THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROL. Anyway I hope that in the future if someone has been making the same mistakes as me, I hope you find this information useful.
Major thanks to Wrathernaut. You are like the divine force that guided me through all of this (whether you know it or not haha).
