I will be posting pics of the install very shortly, however I'm having an issues and need some assistance.

I cant get the Metra steering wheel controls to work.

I have connected the wires correctly according to the document that pictures a 16 pin connector. I've checked the wiring at least 10 times and am 100% confident its wired correctly at the unit. There is another 16 pin connector in the trunk that connects to the factory XM unit, that wouldnt be it, would it? Really grasping at straws here because I'm confident in my wiring.

I have disconnected everything bose related in the trunk and its completely out of the car... could that be the cause of the steering wheel controls not to work?

Any ideas?

It says in the Metra instructions that if you only see short LED light flashes that it is not detecting any wires connected to the Metra interface. I most certainly have them connected which is making me believe either the unit is defective or something is wrong with the wiring itself or if I'm missing something in the trunk.

Got started this weekend... Holy crap I forgot how much work this stuff is. I still have plenty of hours to go but got pretty much most of the hard parts done.

Only things left are:

Mount X-overs
Find/mount ground for amps
Mount power cable to battery
Figure out how I'm gonna mount tweets (they will not fit in factory spot, gonna try and modify the housing)
Connect everything together

Good god I hate those Molex connectors. I'm using factory wiring because I haven't had the nerve to attempt running wire through the molex yet.

if you still havent had any ideas about the tweeters, il take pics for you tonight. i mounted them in the door panel in front of the actual handle, right before they hit the vents. i have kappas so they came will all sorts of cool mounting hardware, but im sure you have ways of adapting it to make it work.

and ya, that molex sucks, im still using the factory wiring from the bose amp to reach the front 2 :/

Modifying the molex connector in the driver side door was a huge pain in the ***, it took several hours. I'm glad it's done and I most likely never have to do that again.

I did a door panel install in my last ride, flush mounted the tweets right by the handle. I know what you mean. If you have pics handy go ahead and post them. I'm trying to avoid cutting into the panel so I'll attempt to modify the tweeter housing from the inside. If I'm unable to get the fitment I'm looking for, I will resort to panel/handle idea.

This Metra Axxess is kicking my ***... really sucks. I don't know what it could be.

For the Metra, it should be a very easy install. Here's the connector you'll be using.. Just replace "resistor" with ASWC wire in your mind, since this is from a PAC SWI-PS install:

I have the Green/Grey striped wire going to the White/Green wire in the ASWC
I have the Yellow harness wire going to ground
I have the Red ASWC wire going to ignition red
I have the Black ASWC wire going to ground

Why is the vehicle speed wire pointed out in this picture?
