Angry casette eject error

I have a cassette bose in my g and I play my itunes through one of those wired cassette adapters and the damn thing keeps flipping to side 2 and back to side 1 then ejecting frequently. but the cassette adapter only fits one way and doesnt have tape inside. so why does it keep rejecting it?

Before I had my iPod adapter, I used a cassette adapter also. When I used the cheap one, it did it alot. I bought a much nicer one & it rarely did it. Your cassette player may also be dirty too.

The little spinning reels inside are probably getting jammed, making it think you're at the end of the tape and swapping sides.
