Radio went nuts the other day and won't turn off. For the time being I've pulled the radio fuse so that it won't drain my battery. After I pulled the fuse, my climate control is stuck on the last setting I had it at.

Been reading through the existing threads on this common problem with the radio failing and the AC/climate control going haywire.

I have the opportunity to obtain the radio and other parts from a wrecked 04 coupe, wondering if swapping in these parts will work?

 

It should work fine, so long as they're both bose or both non-bose headunits. Just make sure you get the trim plate as well, as the circuit boards and radios don't always line up between early 03s and 04s on the trim.

 

Thanks! Turns out I wasn't able to get the parts from the coupe, but the parts from an 03 sedan might be available. Do you know if the sedan pieces will work also?

I'm now starting to experience intermittent starting issues, could this be related to the problem with the circuit board in the radio as well? Or is this a totally different problem now?

 

Yeah, sedan and coupe radios (but not bose amps) are all interchangeable same year for year, except for 07, when the sedan got the body update and the coupe didn't.
