To anyone having oem radio issues

I found this guy on ebay. His user name is "xw1600". Charges $150 to fix your oem radio. This price includes shipping also. I had alot of issues with my 04 coupe radio. Sound coming out one speaker, cd's stucks, not loading, skipping n etc. You have to take out your head unit. You wont be able to control your ac until you put it back. (Remember this). You ship him your head unit only, even if the cd's are stuck inside. In about a week he ships you back your radio and cd's. Put it back in and bam! everything is working oem. I rather not go with the double din cuz have a child on the way and the money can be used for other things. I bought my car with the cd player messing up. I have a pac aux also but nothing beats cd quality. Hope this helps out alot of people who are having issues.

Yeah, problem is there's about 5 common problems with the OEM radios, and that $150 will only fix the ones you're currently having. You can do a Metra kit (under $100 with purchase of any receiver from crutchfield.com) and a cheap single-din radio for under $80 (12 to choose from) and have something that isn't known for:
  • Mechanical failure of disc changer
  • Read failure of discs
  • Circuit board failure, leading to no controls at the unit, but steering wheel controls working
  • Power supply failure, leading to complete failure of the radio and climate controls
  • Ribbon cable failure, leading to audio channels cutting in/out and/or failure of all headunit functions

I mean, your choice, and I hope you get another 7 years out of your repair, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I have the radio/ac problem and I insert and remove the radio fuse randomly. I have been bitching to Infiniti aholes for a year and a half. Someone from Infiniti calls me today and tells me the latest recall "may" fix the problem. I said that made no sense because it was an air bag connector problem that the recall is supposed to fix correct? BS right?

Probably want you to bring the car in with the intention of having the radio fixed. THey won't do it under a recall and if warranty is out, you're out $600 to have one crappy radio replaced with one that'll fail just as assuredly.

I did the repair on the radio.
Charged $120 in and out plus $159 for the repair. It was an Ebay guy too and while I was there he set up a repair from someone calling from Maine and another from LA.
He was great as they truly don't get many walkins. Brentwood, CA though.

$279 is enough to get a cheap double din put in there.
