Amp and Sub compatibility ?

hey guys i have a quick question about my amp and sub combo.
i am having a diamond audio m6 10" dual 2 ohm voice coil sub(m610D2) installed.
with a alpine 5 channel amp f450 the specs are listed:

~ 50 watts RMS x 4 + 200 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
~ 60 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms + 200 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
~ 120 watts RMS x 2 + 200 watts RMS x 1 in bridged mode
~ 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-channel output
~ Tri-Way capable
~ Requires 8-gauge power and ground leads

~ Bass Engine features:

- Front and rear variable 50-200 Hz high-pass/low-pass crossovers, 12 dB/octave
- Sub channel has a 30-200 Hz low-pass crossover, 12 dB/octave
- selectable (15 Hz or 30 Hz) subsonic filter on the sub channel
- tuned Bass EQ (6 dB bass boost at 50 Hz, while frequencies below 30 Hz are cut by 6 dB)

~ MOSFET power supply
~ STAR Topology (minimizes internal noise and prevents ground interference)
~ Oversized power and ground connections
~ Gold-plated screw terminals
~ Top-mounted controls with cover
~ Detachable front cover
~ Blue power LED
~16-9/16"W x 2-1/2"H x 11-1/4"D (depth is 10" with front cover removed)

NOw my question is that the installed told me that the amp might have a problem with the sub cuz of some 2ohm - 4ohm problem.
the amp doesn't supposedly handle 2 ohms on mono, or something like that.
he said it might cut out when playing music loud.
any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
this installer is driving me crazy.i might have picked the wrong place?????

PLEASE HELP
SAM

hes right, it should hit a little, but if u crack it up, the amp will prolly go into power conserve mode or blow the fuse depending on its design. Your better off just running those 4 channels for the 6.5s and get a mono amp for the sub.

thanks chuckp

any other way of going about this then to buy another amp.
do you know of anther amp that can handle the componets up front and have a mono out for the sub.
i just can't have two amps in my car(can't afford to)
realize that i am NOT looking for a show stopping ear piercing system.
just a little boom and clear sounds for my ears.

do you think i got a crappy amp.( alpine f450).
thanks in advance

Correction, your alpine amp can run at 2ohms, do you have the stock bose speakers in your ride? If so, it should run no problem, those stock speakers run at very low ohms too.

the question i have is:
what is the best way to wire my jl xr650 components in front and a dual voice coil 2 ohm diamond audio 10" sub(m6) with the alpine 5 channel mrv-f450

my installer said that at hi volume the amp will turn off.??

i thought the dual voice coil setup on my sub could allow me to hook it up (via series or parallel???) to make it work.
the specs on the amp are as follows:

MAX Power (at 14.4V,EIAJ)
* Bridged 4 ohms : 240W x 2 + 370W x 1
* Per channel into 4 ohms : 90W x 4 + 370W x 1

RMS Power (at 12V,20Hz-200Hz)
* Bridged 4 ohms : 80W x 2 + 150W x 1
* Per channel into 2 ohms : 40W x 4 + 150W x 1
* Per channel into 4 ohms : 30W x 4 + 150W x 1

RMS Power (at 14.4V,20Hz-200Hz)
* Bridged 4 ohms : 120W x 2 + 200W x 1
* Per channel into 2 ohms : 60W x 4 + 200W x 1
* Per channel into 4 ohms : 50W x 4 + 200W x 1

so need some major help.is there a safe way of hooking these speakers without starting a freaking fire in my car.
thanks guys.
