Audio setup idea

My front driver's side speaker (stock bose) just blew, so I'm thinking about a slight upgrade throughout. I'm not very knowledgeable in the car audio world, and have heard/read that it's kind of a pain dealing with the audio in these cars.

I'm thinking about just getting a set of components in the front (prob alpine type r) and leaving the stock rears and power the component set with an amp. Would I benefit greatly by upgrading the rears as well? IF so, what's a good recommendation? Also, how much more power would i need on the amp (it looks like i'll want 100rms for the front components)?

I don't need a super loud, competition type setup, I just like having a good sounding stereo in the car. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Most people in the SQ world choose to go sans-rear speakers, myself included. A good component set off of 75-100W will be fine

^ This.

Disconnect the rears and never look back. Front soundstage + rear sub is the way to go.
