First of all I want to apoligize if this problem has came up already. I searched through the forum and could not find anything. Anyways, I just bought a 2004 coupe. Amazing car. Im having problems with the display. I had the seller drop the price because it doesnt work, plan on upgrading to a nice double din anyways. Until then, I would like to see if I can get it to work. The stereo works fine, volume, mode buttons, scan etc. But the display of the stereo wont light up or maybe not turn on??? So there is no way for me to see what radio station Im on, or cd track or any other feature that comes on that little screen. Anyone else have problems like that or know how I could fix it? Thanks in advance

 

Could be the ribbon cable between the HU and display.

Check this thread out for details on how to try that remedy. Yes, it's focused on how the bad ribbon can make an audio channel go out, but display's on the same cable.
