Angry 04' G35 Sedan CD player - A few problems

Hey everyone, what's up.. Names Brian. I own a 04' G35 Sedan.. And I'm having a few problems with the CD player. I actually intend to get the Ipod wire installed, but I'm old school, and I still enjoy the CD aspect, especially until I get the Ipod attachment.

Ok. I am experiencing the SAME problems My 03' I35 had with it's Bose CD player. These problems never seem to occur when the radio, AM or FM is playing. i have googled my issues for a bit, but none of the CD player problems I have read have anything to do with the issues I'm facing.

1. When I come to a stop harder than usual, or even typical breaking, Sound will almost entirely cut off for a few moments, in all speakers.

2. When making stops (breaking, even normally), turning quickly, hitting bumps, pot holes, speed bumps, etc, The sound of the speakers on the Right side almost completely cuts off. I switch the stereo settings just to prove it's the right side, so only the right side speakers play, and you can barely hear them.. If you break hard, accelerate fast, or hit another bump, this goes away temporarily.

3. Also, I'm not sure if this is abnormal, because I know in cold weather CD players can act up until warm, but my G35's CD player can take up to 45 min to an HOUR after the cars been started to play normally, without skipping. I feel like this is a bit long compared to previous infiniti's Ive owned.

These problems are IMMENSELY frustrating, since I never listen to the radio, and don't have the Ipod jack yet..

Any insight is much appreciated on what steps I can do to fix this myself, or if further servicing is needed, or a new head unit/cd player all together. Car has 91,000 miles on it.

Thanks,

-brian

Sounds like the ribbon cable is loose or just has poor connections. Try the fix in this thread:

Otherwise, it's just the typical POS factory headunit. Replace it and be done with the crapfest of the OEM headunits.
