2003 G35 radio unit question, can i switch it for a 2005 unit?
I have 2003 g35 coupe which its radio unit just stopped working, the controls do not work neither does the ac , none of the buttons on the unit work or turn on
I have read on various sites online that this is pretty common
The question i have is, Can i switch my current stock 2003 radio unit for a stock 2005 G35 radio unit, reason i ask is because i have a friend who has one just sitting at home not being used and is selling to me for very low price, its from a 2005 g35 which has a bose system as does mine, is this possible can i plug and play or is there a difference from the 2003 and 2005??
please help me, id really appreciate any comments or help thanks

You'd have to swap the entire dash for a swap.
Electronically, it'll work, as the plugs and functions are identical though.
But the worst thing, is that the 2005 unit is just as likely to fail as the unit in your car that already has, so after all that work, you'd be stuck with another failed unit in a short amount of time, then have to pay out the nose to find a factory unit that still works (also just as likely to fail). Just do the right thing now and go aftermarket before you get stuck with the headache of another factory unit.
