IPOD and 2005

I just upgraded from my 2003 G35 to a 2005 AT, Sport, Premium pkg, Sport tuned, Aero. In my 2003 I had installed the NIS in order to use my IPOD. The 2005 does not have a SAT button. Does anyone know if it is possible to install the IPOD with the factory system? Is there even an input for it? May be a silly question, but I don't feel like taking the dash apart to find out. Thanks

I have an 03 w/o sat and I'm going to use the AUXNISS from Soundgate to install mine. If you don't have sat, I'm not sure it would work. But at this point you really have nothing to lose, so you might as well just take it apart and look. The worst case scenario is that you'll need to pick up another cable

hooking up your IPOD

I've used the Griffin Technology Road Trip to hook up my IPOD and have been very satisfied despite that it's a FM transmitter based unit (There are many slams on using FM transmitter based units).

The difference is that it is an amplified unit and there is virtually no static or loss of signal. I've tried other options like the Monster Cable and was not adequate at all.

The best thing about the Road Trip is that it's a charger, transmitter, cradle and console mount all built into one unit. With the cigarette lighter location on the G right beside the center console, once mounted, it's looks really cool as well.

This is a great option, if you lazy like me and can't be bothered with ripping the dash apart.

According to the Apple website, Nissan is supposed to be coming out with a way to integrate the Ipod to the car's stereo. I'm not sure if the current cars can be retrofitted. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Here is the link:

The 2005 doesn't have a SAT button? You can't add satellite radio to a 2005? That can't be right. I would think as long as you can select satellite radio (perhaps they moved it to the "radio" controls), the PAC aux adapter would still work.

Has anyone done a direct IPOD connect to the Headunit on a 05' bose? I have had both direct and FM transmit on my 02' bose Maxima and there is a big difference.

From what I've read the 2005 doesn't have a SAT button however when you hook the PAC unit up you can toggle through using the RADIO button. The stereo recognizes it has something hooked up and SAT will now be an option when you toggle through RADIO.
