Stock Stereo Problem

Hi, I have a 2005 g35 coupe no navi. Acouple days ago my stock stereo stopped working. The ac/climate controls seem to work fine. The radio turns on but only for afew seconds the cd player does not work at all. I've searched online and most people that have problems with the stereo also have issues with the climate control aswell i dont tho.
Not sure what to do any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is it just the CD player portion or does the am/fm still work?

Well, I can't tell you the exact cause, but the solution is the same regardless - replace it.

If it were just the CD with issues, it could have been something just jamming the mechanical bits and it shutting off in self-preservation, but with both going, it's likely something in the actual radio circuitboard.

You can pick up a used radio, but that's just as likely to fail as your factory one, because these factory radios are crap. You could repair that problem by bringing it to an electronics repair specialist, but that'll cost you the equivalent of a cheap new radio with the cheap replacement trim, and will only fix a few of the many problems frequently encountered with the factory radio. Best option is to save up $700 or so, get the factory double din trim (JDM kit) and a quality radio to replace it.
