I didn't realize the AVX were so expensive... I assume that the 30GB model will replace the 20GB. One of my concerns is that it talks about ripping every CD you put in the drive to the HD in (I assume) MP3 format, but I'm not even sure if it's MP3. I certainly hope there is a way to load whole discs of MP3s rather than rerip every CD. After all, I'm sure using EAC and Lame on my PC will make a better MP3, and it would save TONS of time not to have to shuffle cds. Does anyone know about how the hard disk based units work?

Thanks for the compliments about how clean my car is. When I took those pictures, it was right after I had just fully washed and detailed my car [outside and inside], so that is why it looks so clean in the photos. If you were to walk outside and see the screen right now, you would definately see fingerprints all over it!

As for the lighting... Some of that just has to do with the time of day that I took the pictures [sunny day, but no real direct sunlight in the cabin], and it might also be due to Photoshop. I think I might have tweaked the brightness and contrast values a little bit. Photography is also a big hobby of mine, and I used to even do paid jobs.

Here is a pic of my Kenwood HU. I swapped out the Bose amp and factory speakers for aftermarket ones. Not sure if it is "needed", but I did it anyways.

all of these screens look beautiful!!! Though mine is coming with navigation, it would be awesome to also have a large screen to control my audio as well.

Do they make double din plates for navi owners as well??

Yeah the Kenwood piece comes without navigation. Its an add on. So if you already have a navi system I would recomment the Kenwood because it is the best sounding of the bunch.

My install was done by Sound Advice in Mission Viejo as well. They did a great job, and I would recommend them as well.

JSTWONG- nice install. Did you replace anything else or add anything else? Did you replace speakers?

As far as I know, there is only one type of double DIN walk through that you find on these forums, and it is for this one.

As for my install... I'm still kind of stuck in the middle of my audio upgrade. I had the Eclipse AVN installed, plus a JL Audio 500/5 amp. I already had Boston Acoustic SL65 speakers installed, but I'm not the most pleased with them so far.

But I want to add a small subwoofer to my system [that should help the sound of the BA speakers], and I want to get a PAC module installed so that I can get the use of my steering wheel controls again. Hopefully, I can get the subwoofer and controls done within the next 4 weeks or so. [My schedule is pretty jammed right now.]

where can you order a PAC module.

I am planning on doing the double din install but would love to keep the steering wheel controls.

thx
