left speaker fading in and out

This has happened real recently but while driving my left front door speaker fades in and out whenever it feels like it. I have the factory Bose system. I was thinking it might be a loose wire or something.

Is this a common thing, where should I begin looking around? the amp, head unit, or possibly is the speaker just going out?
