Going DD: Ditching The OEM Navi

I've been searching/reading for hours now and I can't seem to find anyone that ditched their OEM navi when they went DD.

I've decided that I am not going to shell out hard-earned $$$ just to get a JDM kit so I'm going Metra. I have stock navi and Blose.. which will probably get changed out soon enough (amp, speakers and maybe adding a small sub). Aside from the obvious gaping hole this will leave above the A/C buttons, are there any repercussions as to throwing out the OEM navi? Any possible wiring issues or electrical issues that anyone has encountered or that I could possibly face?

Thanks in advance.

No, there are no electrical problems caused by simply "deleting" the main nav adapter in the glovebox and the nav screen in the center. The harnesses will just be unplugged and tucked wherever you want to put them.

I thought u needed to go JDM cause of fitment issues with having the oem navi setup. I went that way and am very happy with the setup. I get to use the MPG info plus have my maps from my DD. It was costly but worth it!

That is correct, but he's removing the navi components, so he'll be free to use whichever trim he pleases.
