What are the chances of using the 05 radio in an 04, WITH the center pieces, like the dash trim, etc.?

 

i am also interested in this question. i dont know about the whole dash thing...but i know i want the mp3 capability.

I know as far as the dash goes that you can't make the switch between 04 and 05. I looked into doing this to get the real aluminum and found out that Infiniti not only changed the material but changed the angle enough that there is no backward compatibility.

It would be great if we could find someone to do a quality custom aluminum replacement for all of the trim. That way we could get rid of the non-standard form factor radio and just put in a nice aftermarket head unit. I think that a lot of G owners would jump at the chance to make the switch.

So far the only replacement stuff that I have seen is of the rather "cheesey" looking wood variety.

Anyone know of a good company that might be willing to do this if we got enough interest?

(Sorry to kind of hijack your thread but I figure that this would solve the radio problem as well.)
