Is there a way to connect the iphone 5 USB cord into the stock bose HD?

I have an iphone 5 that connects to my home desktop PC via USB, but I want to know if there is a way to connect it to my HD in my 06 g coupe(with navi) so I can play music from my iphone.

I currently use an aux cord and I hate it and I miss being able to both charge my phone and play music from it simultaneously like I was able to my my old maxima that had pioneer double din.

Not sure if the PA15-NIS is compatible with the iPhone 5, but it charged and interfaced with the previous iPhones. Didn't see any information on it with the lightning adapter.

I saw your stickied post about the DD shopping guide, very informative information and thanks for making it.

So the only part I would need to get is the PA15-NIS that would allow me to connect the USB end of the cord to the back of the stock bose HU? I dont have satellite radio so I dont care about that so I dont know if the stickied thread above about the PA15-NIS installation would be applicable for me. Sorry electronics is not my strong area.

Provided it works with the iP5 through the 30pin-to-iP5 adapter, yes, all you would need is the PA15-NIS.
There is no USB port, just the 30pin connector:

I see, I strongly doubt the IP5 connector would the same as the 30pin on the previous models. I cant justify spending $800 on a double din setup right now so I may have to just keep using my AUX cord. :/

I was referring to one of these that might work as a go-between on the PA15 and the iP5:

Interesting....I wouldn't see why it wouldn't work right!? I might have to try this now.

^100% correct that would work but does not transfer video which doesn't matter with the stock HU anyways.

The Lightning (iPhone5) to 30-pin adapter comes as cord version too. I'd think using that would be better because you can hide the bulky 30-pin connection part away, and the thinner iphone-side connector would be compatible with cases you might have.

The only thing that can come as a negative effect from using one of those pass-through adapters is that they may result in interference coming through the speakers. I've used a couple of different adapters for my newer iPod touch in order to make it charge in my 2nd gen sedan. But every instance in which I'd use the adapter, I'd get some interference through the speakers.

But yes I highly doubt you would have an issue with using one of those as far as being able to play music through your system.

Idk I really want good quality sounds so i may just have to upgrade the headunit. It just really sucks that it's going to cost me 1k just to put a DD in.

DD=250
jdm trim=380
random parts=150
install=150-200
=wtf

I would say that the adapter is worth a shot at the very least man. Especially since they may have improved on the design for this newer platform as opposed to the cheap way that they addressed the old ones that were produced for the 2nd generation iPod touch. And the adapter is considerably cheaper to give it a go.

I also found this as a corded version.

That's true, it would be much cheaper. So if I get the PA15-NIS and the corded ip5 adapter, I just take the stock hu out and plug it in right? Simple install?

How much is it in gas to go round-trip to Savannah $60-80? I'm free on weekends and only expect you to lend a hand and maybe pick up lunch.

I couldn't vouch for the simplicity of the entire install. But I can say that once the PA15-NIS is installed; using the pass-through adapter should be extremely easy to utilize lol.
